IOM3 is licenced by the Engineering Council and Science Council to accredit both Academic and Professional Development Schemes.

Academic Accreditation

Academic accreditation relates to individual programmes (not departments or institutions), which are accredited to ensure they meet the high standards set by the profession. In the UK standards are set by the Engineering Council and Science Council for the relevant areas as regulatory bodies for their profession. Graduates from an accredited degree programme will have achieved part or all of the underpinning knowledge for later professional registration.

Accreditation Process

Accreditation can only be granted to an organisation on the basis of peer review. This entails information being provided to the Institute, followed by a formal visit by a panel of trained individuals supported by a member of the Accreditation Team. If you are interested in finding out more about the process or becoming involved then please contact the accreditation team
