Young Persons’ Lecture Competition 2008

Would you like to represent your region in the Young Persons’ Lecture Competition (YPLC)? Heats have started all over the UK to test younger members’ presentation and research skills. The overall winner will participate in the World YPLC where they will face international competitors.

Entrants, who must be 28 or under on 1 June next year, will deliver a 15-minute lecture on a materials, mining, packaging or clay technology topic of their choosing, following which they will have to answer judges’ questions with competence and a calm demeanour. The seven regional winners will compete in the YPLC final for a prize of £750, on 16 April 2008 in London.

If you are up to the challenge, look up dates for regional heats and view the rules online, or contact Sarah Boad, tel: 01926 430185.
