Towards a SMARTer Life
Call for Papers

Papers are sought for a two-day international event entitled ‘Towards a SMARTer Life’, which will focus on smart technologies. The conference, to be held from 9-10 June 2008 in Liverpool, UK, is organised by SMART.mat, the smart materials, surfaces and structures network of the Materials KTN. Authors are invited to submit abstracts covering the innovation, design or manufacture of these ‘intelligent’ materials, as well as how they can be used to improve quality of life.

Papers should consider such themes as novel materials and technologies, design/materials interface, and smart devices, sensors and activators. Regarding quality of life, papers should address areas such as health, energy, sustainability and lifestyle. A full list of topics can be found in the call for papers flier (download pdf).

Abstracts should be no more than 500 words and submitted through the online system, which will be available shortly at the event web page. The deadline for submissions is 30 September 2007.
