Smart Materials, Surfaces and Structures Technology Workshop

The rescheduled SMART.mat half-day workshop on Smart Materials, Surfaces and Structures Technology will take place on Monday 19 June 2006. The event is being organised by SMART.mat network and the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA), and is to be held at Reading University. It is aimed at both the science base and industry from the South East England region, and the invite has been extended to include those in the London area. The format of the workshop will include the following:

  • Introduction to the SMART.mat network
  • Case-studies on the application of Smart Materials Technology
  • Current funding opportunities within SEEDA.
  • Workshop activity session aimed at the identification of South East England regional interests and requirements. This is an opportunity to help steer future funding in your region
A networking opportunity will be provided during lunch together with demonstrator items and a poster session. It is envisaged that the workshop and lunch will finish at around 14:30.

This workshop is free to all SMART.mat members. To become a SMART.mat member please register on the Materials Knowledge Transfer Network website (www.materialsktn.net ) and specify Smart as an area of interest. Alternatively you can register your interest in attending this event by contacting Lisa Fixter on email at lfixter@qinetiq.com, and you will then be automatically registered as a SMART.mat member. SMART.mat membership is free and an ongoing programme of SMART.mat events is planned.
