Nanomaterials and Nanomanufacturing Conference

An international conference addressing the key issues in nanomaterials will take place in London on15-16 December 2003. A new study on the potential benefits of nanotechnology for the UK economy has identified the need for the industrial and academic community to support nanotechnology applications in industry. Against this background, this conference will examine a number of key areas including structural and functional nanomaterials, bio-nanomaterials, characterisation, modelling, manufacture and fabrication, commercial exploitation and benefits for society.

The programme will include a series of authoritative keynote presentations, and papers for the technical programme are currently being invited. The deadline for abstracts is 31 July 2003. The event is being organised by the Institute’s Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology Committee in association with EPSRC and the DTI, with support from the Institute of Nanotechnology, the Institute of Physics, the Institution of Electrical Engineers, the Royal Microscopical Society and the Royal Society of Chemistry.
