ICT Members Vote to Join IOM3

Members of the Institute of Clay Technology (ICT) voted in favour of merger with the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining at their EGM on 14 October 2005. After a consultation process which has involved discussion with individual members, local societies and industry bodies, ICT members voted in proportion 2 to 1 to join IOM3.

The final confirmation of the merger will be made by the IOM3 Council on 3 November, paving the way for the transfer of ICT membership and activities to IOM3 by the end of the year.

The ICT currently has a membership of approximately 800. The ICT group will join the IOM3 Ceramics Division, which will be renamed the Ceramics and Building Products Division. Within this division, ICTA, the International Clay Technology Association, will be formed to focus the interests of the Clay Technology community.
