Green Construction Design Workshop

The Institute has launched the Materials and Design Exchange (MaDE), a new initiative to facilitate the development of design skills to exploit the benefits of new materials and processes. The Institute, working together with the DTI, the Design Council, and the Royal College of Art, has recognised that the needs of designers are quite different from those of scientists and engineers. The intention of MaDE is to improve communications and stimulate the exchange of ideas between the materials and design communities.

MaDE will deliver a series of courses, workshops and night-schools on selected topics aimed specifically at designers. The first in the series is a workshop on Green Construction which will explore new materials and processes and will be particularly suitable for designers involved with both external and internal aspects of construction. This workshop, which is free of charge, will be held at the Institute's headquarters in London on Tuesday 24th May.
