Business Development Manager

The National Metals Technology Centre (NAMTEC) provides Knowledge Transfer, Training and Research services to the UKs metals and manufacturing sector.

We are seeking a capable, enthusiastic and responsive individual to join our growing business development team. The position will involve the identification, formulation and securing of a range of public and private sector business opportunities in support of the Advanced Engineering and Metals (AEM) sector.

An articulate communicator with a demonstrable track record of achievement in business development, you will be a self-motivated, customer focused professional, with a proven ability to identify and secure large scale research and/or knowledge transfer contracts. Your science/engineering background and experience in a similar role will allow you to develop long term client relationships with a variety of technical and non-technical customers.

You will have an understanding and experience of a variety of business development techniques, including market segmentation, competitor analysis, lead generation and formal proposal writing.

You will be capable of engaging with a broad range of people whilst inspiring and motivating those around you. You will bring a creative and pro-active approach to the role whilst maintaining professional levels of task management.
